Yedda Morrison

Yedda Morrison's reading or talk had a very good outcome, there was alot of people there and it was more organized than the last one. There was a nice little introduction and background about her and then she came on to stage. She definitely matched hew work, they way she put it in words and her style matched her work well. She has had alot of accomplishments and seems to be a pretty well known writer, also her new book called darkness is being published which will probally be popular in that style of writing.
There was a picture that was put up on the screen that was so pretty, i really liked it and it caught my attention right away, it was seneic and looked three dimensional. It was colorful but not loud, and it was natural but elegant at the same time. This picture was put up in a art musem in Canada, and its huge takes up a whole wall. The way she played with the picture and created something so pretty was credtable. Even her other visuals are amazing and pretty i liked her visuals alot.
She read a piece from Girl Scout Nations called Robin Hood, she read it well and had a certain tone throughout. Also she made different noises for the birds, trees etc and she did them exactly how they should sound. In the middle of her act she put a netted bag thing over her face, a part of her act which was sort of different but she looked confident in what she was doing. Theres some parts of her written i like but not much. One of her lines that she said just stuck out to me "An empire build on cabbage."

What is a Word Worth?

Creation

Creation, creative, creating all these words relate to me. Creativity, creation are the meaning to my name Rachna. Thta what I was named and thats what i represent. I have a very creative presonality i would say, i love creating new relationships, feelings, poems, food. I know its all random but thats the point. I am random, creation is random, and i think beauty is random too. I like that i have the gift to create or help create beautiful things.
Fire. one of the first creations that humans discovered. this one creation helped out in so many ways, to eat better food that was cooked, to be warm, to get rid of trees to build huts. This one creation started back in history and to this day still is with us, even though fire is one of the most dangerous creations it is necassary and essential from everyday life to reaching the moon. From lighters to rockets fire is all around. I think fire is a good example to saying things should be done or used in proportion because to much fire could destroy and to little wouldnt do anything.
Creation is creating something, anything, everything. One such beautiful creation came to my house in 2007. She was a bundle of joy, and she was beautiful. It felt like we had known each othert before and very well because when she came in through my fron door in her cute little basket she gave me one of the biggest most touching smile ever, the kind that came from within, from her soul, from someone whose close to you. That day we created new relationships that day I went from having one sister to two.
Creating a thought or idea and expressing it with feedback, examples and a definition is philosophy. The core of something an idea or thought or rule of society. It sort of is a way of life, and its been around for centuries. Philosophers have forever been influencing society with thier ideas and theories, they do get modified and improved over time but they have a starting point and then its just keeps going, like water it changes shape and refects society. So in a way it creates socitey while society creates it.
You can create anything. And it can be simple. As i said before I love creating. My tea for exampke is one of my great creations. It sounds silly but my tea really is delicious. It always puts a smile on everyones face when they have it, its just pricless to see the looks on thier faces creating that smile, and knowing that not only does it bring a smile to thier face and they adore it but they truly love it. They love it cause its delicious, cause its tea and most imporantly cause i make it with my love.

dont be lonely response

the first story in the book was very interesting because i think it was a good opening for a book and aslo the story was very well put. the way she starts it is very cool because its like she tells you or presents a statement and the rest of the story is like her explaining the meaning of her sentence. it is written in simple words nothing to fancy but the words used are deep and hold alot of meaning.
I really liked the story on pg 15 about the television and how the person always left their t.v on and this also had simple style writing with alot of meaning but it also had an actual televison on the page with a conversation, and this coversation which took place was very interesting because it was about a guy who got caught put in juvinile and two people were talking about it on the screen about him and how one of them said that he was dead to them while the other asked if hes really dead and the first person kept saying yes inspite the fact that the second person's question was if he was really dead. this senerio or story i think shows how death is percieved differently in actuality or in your life.
On page 29 it caught my attention because I saw the television screen with the words "your life is waiting" on it in the middle of the screen and that interested me to read it. it really made me think about my life for just a second like what was i really waiting for cause it seems like we are always waiting for the next step instead of living in the present. in this story it talked about how she couldnt sleep so shed always watch t.v at night and eventually fall asleep i think it means she tires her brain out and eventually falls alseep because shes depressed and she cant otherwise. also at the end she talks about how she did she that quote on the screen and when she closed her eyes she saw it to as if she was thinking about what she was waiting for too.

my room

Room
The music is playing welcome to rainbow right now, with the sound of the heater a mini one I have in my room just for extra heat. It smells of a lot of different things my perfume, lotions, fresh laundry, and right now some cereal right by me cause that’s what I’m having. My room always has the constant wind sound with the window being right next to me. The curtains with their blue and gray stripes yellow flowers and green leaves designed in these stripes is always a view I look at. The little Christmas decoration on the lamp right next to it matches it very well; it’s the same blue. The cola Jones soda and the blackberry izze is always on my study table, almost like it’s a part of the table now. The beds in here, you could fall asleep the minute you laid down on them, they feel like being on a cloud with just the right amount of power to push you back up. And the chair I sit in, no like it’s the best chair made its just a leather chair, but its feel and its shape is prefect for me, like my personal chair. This is very I go to be comfortable, emotional in a good or bad way, share my secrets, and dream this room is like a sponge it soaks all in and gives back what it can. Its my simple getaway that can be anything I want, it reflects my feelings, it reflects me.

earliest memory

"I'm home!" I screamed as I ran towards the front gate to my ranch style house and then sprinted to my house door. I was always very excited to come home from school. I was probally 7 or 8 back then. My mom always would have a yummy lunch ready at home. Shed say " come wash your hands and change your colthes lunch is ready" i would do as told right away and go to the dining room. The food was always delicious and i would take hardly anytime to scaref it down. Because what came after was the fun part thatd id wait for in the day. " It's time for a bedtime story!" my great grandma would say. "yay! im so excited to hear a new story today!" and i always really was. my great grandma was the best story teller ever. She no only told the story so well with suspense and everything but she would repeat stories but always change it up to keep it spicy and fun. Today's story was sleeping beauty. I laid in bed as she got comfortable on her chair and started to tell me the story. Her voice was so beatiful and storylike even at the age of 89 she sounded great. I slowly started to doze off still listening and for the first time i started to dream it. I saw all the visual things she said magnificent, arora, prince philip and it was so fasinating to see the story through my eyes and my imagination. I was very happy and i had a good nap i slept an extra hour. My mom and her were really happy cause they could get stuff done, i was a very active child. But when i woke up it was with a smile, and they told me i had one the whole time i slept. This is a very simple and everyday memory but these are the things i live for and remember my great grandma by who i loved very dearly and miss alot everyday. If she was still here i probablly would still be listening to her stories.

response to lat weeks presentation

firstly i was very suprised to see so many people there it was croweded and packed! Because i dont think they expected sop many people cause the place rented wasnt big enough for so many people. Some who came there cause they were fans and many who were encouraged by thier profesors which showed they were trying to show them different forms of poetry and style. The acts itself were interesting i didnt really understand them that well but i got parts of them. The first one i thought was very long and it dragged on but it had some good lines. The second one was interesting it was funny but it didnt make to much sense to me, i didnt know if they were trying to make a point, but there was alot going on it the 2nd one. In the third one i understood it better because i had heard it before and seeing it being done made sense because before i had just listened to it in class. I think overall it was a good experience to have because it opened up the door to a different kind of creative writing, but i dont know how much ill really use it.
